Welcome! I am an assistant professor of Geography at the University of California, Los Angeles, which I joined in 2011. Prior to this I received a PhD in geography from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Broadly conceived my research concerns the political and geographical dynamics of war and peace, or what I call conflict geographies. Topics of particular interest include ethnic conflict and nationalism, intra-state war, postwar peacebuilding, Southeast European politics, military contracting and the militarization of U.S. foreign policy.
